Abstract
This article uses the Mongolian and Chinese documents, such as ''The Mongolian archives of the Qing dynasty interior secretary'' and ''the Mongolian documents in the Factual Record of Qing Dynasty (Qing-shilu)''. In the article, through discussing the institution of Dalai Lamas, the Panchen Lamas, the Jebtsundampas (rJe-btsun-dam-pa) and the ICang-skya Khutukhtus, author illuminates the formation system of four major reincarnation systems. The article analyses some issues of the history of Mongolian reincarnation system, and the author argues that the practice of Mongolian reincarnation system is based on the inheritance of needs and interests of sectarian struggle in Mongolia and Tibet.
