Abstract
The authors describe about Halal (permissible, clean, lawful) and Haram (forbidden,
unclean, unlawful) things in Islamic rulings including food. There rulings are very important
laws in Islam. Islam has introduced concept of halal and haram in its economic system. In
fact the foundations of the Islamic economy have been laid on this concept. In Islam we are
classifying halal and haram. Halal and haram are universal terms that apply to all facets of life
such as daily routines, households, clothes, foods, family ties etc. In Islam very clear specified
about consumption of halal and haram. Muslims are supposed to consume only halal foods as
it is obligation by Allah’s laws.
In the Quran, All-Mighty God described about which foods are permissible to eat: They
ask you what is lawful for them as food: Say, “Lawful to you are all kinds of good foods which
Allah has made lawful ,meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables
and fruits. And those beasts and birds of prey which you have trained as hounds, training and
teaching them to catch in the manner as described to you by Allah; so eat of what they catch foryou, but pronounce the Name of Allah over it, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Swift in reckoning.’’
Quran 5:4
Also in the Noble Quran, God All-Knowing, defined about halal and haram animals
and theirs meat. Such as: ‘’Forbidden to you for food are: the dead animals, cattle, beast not
slaughtered, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned
while slaughtering (that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah, or has
been slaughtered for idols) and that which has been killed by strangling ,or by a violent blow,
or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns....and that which has been partly eaten by a wild
animal--unless you are able to slaughter it before its death, and that which is sacrificed on stone
altars.’’ Quran 5: 3
Whatever Allah has allowed to eat it is Halal or good and clean food and other that is
haram or not clean. Halal meat is slaughtered in a way that animal or cattle die painlessly, most
important thing is should mention the Name of Allah, and the blood is drained so the meat is
more clean and healthy. Also there are mentioned about sea and water animal meat: fish and
seafood (with the exception of crocodiles, alligators and frogs) are generally acceptable for
muslims. But as always check first, as there may be personal dietary preference or allergy.
Mongolian muslims are following the Islamic rulings and laws prescribed by Allah All
-Mighty. Therefore, the authors are considered its benefits of studying and researching about
