Abstract
The goal of this article is to clarify the origin, development and main ideology of doctrine of Moonies' new religious movement. The article describes the brief research survey on Moonies' Unification church conducted by the foreign and local researchers, the perspectives of different social groups on Moonies and the reason why Moonies belong to cult according to theories of religious studies and negative impacts on society.
It also points out the anti cult movement and counter cult movement organized by former cult members and parents who lost their children in the Unification church.
